In “Forever Young” text I use embroidery—particularly couching, which allows me to create a sense of untidiness or messiness—to comment on the derogatory labels often assigned to older women, such as hysteria, neuroticism, and craziness.
This work marks a shift from my earlier “Forever Young” Series in which I neatly embroider my age each year using my gray hair.
